The Polimoda Master in Costume Design diverges from traditional design programs by positioning costume design as a sophisticated narrative art form.
This course covers the spectrum from theoretical knowledge (costume history, cultural analysis) to practical application (character design, garment construction) and real-world industry experience. The comprehensive skill set prepares you for diverse roles in theater, film, and the creative indus-tries, while also developing critical soft skills such as storytelling, research methodology, and collab-orative creativity.

The Master in Costume Design welcomes Massimo Cantini Parrini — Costume Designer — as its mentor. His mentorship is marked by extensive industry experience and a distinctive ability to de-velop characters through costumes, with a unique talent for reinterpreting and modernizing historical garments.

POLIMODA LAUNCHES AN INNOVATIVE
MASTEr IN COSTUME DESIGN

"Ever since I was young, I was obsessed with the idea of being a Renaissance man, a jack of all trades or a cultivator of crafts. The mere thought of having to sacrifice many facets of culture that I loved so I could settle on one was not only something shocking to me, but it was a construct I actively fought against. When I first arrived in Florence, I felt an almost cathartic breath of reassurance — an inexplicable wholeness of what seemed like destiny or homecoming."
